My 23rd Birthday

I made this cake for my 23rd birthday. The icing has a bit of sheen to it because I decided to make it using half shortening and half real butter; the butter gives it the sheen. 

1st Annual Willmore Family Reunion

This cake was made for the 1st Annual Willmore Family reunion, featuring a basketweaved side and a checkerboard inside made from chocolate and vanilla flavoured cake. The faces were made from royal icing and the faces were drawn on using FoodWriter edible color markers. The the banner was made from rolled fondant and drawn again with the FoodWriter markers and the sky background was airbrushed in sky blue.
